A large willow lampshade is a great alternative to a chandelier top create a talking piece in high ceilinged rooms such as hallways, vaulted ceilings and barn conversations.

Lights can be made in a variety of sizes from 30cm wide up to 1m and any height.

Lights over 2kg will need additional wire or chain supports from the ceiling, but the majority of shades can be hung from a standard UK light fitting.

Lampshade shapes

Classic

A classic cone style lampshade allows a pool of light to spill into the area below. These work well above dining tables or seating areas to create a focal point.

Chiminea

Modelled on the beautiful curves and opening of a traditional chiminea, this shape really suits high vaulted ceilings as a statement piece.

Drum

Drum lights work brilliantly on lower ceilings where some drama is needed. They also lend themselves well when several are used along a stretch of seating.
